SimplyBudget

You were never bad with money

You've been doing a year's worth of budgeting yourself. Now, SimplyBudget does it instead, and hands you a tailored plan. Your job now is to just follow the plan.

You've been paid, now what?

SimplyBudget tells you exactly how much to transfer and where. Automate these transfers with your bank and now your budget does itself.

The SimplyBudget dashboard, headed “Here's your next pay, sorted.” Five numbered actions: keep $1,467.12 in Everyday, then move $578.46 to Bills, $185.00 to Groceries, $100.19 to Car and $385.08 to Savings.

If you’ve been up at 2am stressing about your budget, you’re not alone. Around 77% of Australian households experienced financial stress in 2025.

The problem

It follows you around

Money stress doesn’t stay in your bank account. It’s the flinch at the checkout when the card takes a second too long. It’s saying you’re busy this weekend, when really it’s the car that needs work you can’t afford. It’s an argument that starts about the dishes and is actually about the rego. You get paid, you feel fine for a few days, then it starts again. You earn more than you spend, so why can’t you afford all the bills?

How SimplyBudget Works

It calculates your whole year

Budgeting is a puzzle: how much of Monday’s pay has to sit in which account so the rent every week, the power bill in 3 months and the $900 rego in 12 months all land on time. Most apps hand you the pieces. SimplyBudget solves it and gives you the answer.

  • It divides every pay

Rent, rego, power, the streaming apps you've forgotten you pay for. Each gets a slice of this pay, and SimplyBudget names the account and amount.

  • It warns you a year out

All your income and expenses are simulated 12 months in advance. A shortfall in 6 months' time turns up today, while there's still something you can do about it.

  • It funds the surprise

The car needs tyres in 4 weeks' time? SimplyBudget works out what you'll actually have by then, lets you draw from it, and locks it in so the money can't quietly go somewhere else.

A shortfall you can see coming

Every pay, transfer and bill for the year ahead, simulated account by account. You're $185 short on groceries next week. You find out today instead of when your fridge is empty.

The 12-month balance check, listing each account with its required amount and the number of simulated events. Groceries carries a red “Shortfall $185.00” chip; a tooltip reads “Short $185.00 over 12 months, $185.00 immediate, before Aug 24.”

Need money for a future expense? Draw from the money you'll have when it's due

$1,000 for Christmas presents, due 15 December. SimplyBudget simulates every account out to that date and shows what each one will hold on the day the bill is due. Slide across what you want to use: a tax return arriving in September, surplus from your pay, whatever spare money is in an account.

The funding wizard for a $1,000 Christmas Presents bill due 15 December 2026, reading “Fully covered.” Sliders draw from a one-off tax return, surplus from the Wage income, and the projected leftover balance of the Everyday, Car and Savings accounts.

Set it in stone

The plan you made? Now it's committed. The money is marked as allocated so it can't get spent on something else by accident.

A funding plan for a $1,000 Christmas Presents bill due 15 December 2026. Committed per pay $781.04, 17 pays until due, remaining gap $0.00, funded from $763.02 of Everyday surplus, $231.84 across 18 pays and $5.14 from a tax return.

Follow the plan

Follow each task. Tick each one off as you do it. Christmas is sorted. So is your bond, your rego, the dentist, and that new thing you've been eyeing off at the shop.

A dated list headed “For your next pays, also do this”: Mon 24 Aug transfer $12.88 to Savings for Christmas Presents, Sat 5 Sept transfer $760.00 from the tax return to Car for New tyres, each with a “Mark done” control. The Mon 17 Aug row is struck through.

It won’t invent money you don’t have

If the year doesn’t add up, SimplyBudget tells you that too, today rather than the week the bill is due. Knowing early is usually the difference between moving one thing and missing three.
